CHAPTER 16
THE PRAYER
1
Messages to Young People, pg. 250
"To every sincere prayer an answer will come. It may not come just as you desire, or at the time you for it; but it will come in the way and at the time that will best meet your need. ...God answers, not always to your expectations, but always for your good."

James 5:16
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Mark 11: 22-23
And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith

Christ's Object Lessons, pg 146
When perplexities arise, and difficulties confront you, look not for help to humanity. Trust all with God. The practice of telling our difficulties to others only makes us weak, and brings no strength to them. It lays upon them the burden of our spiritual infirmities, which they cannot relieve. We seek the strength of erring, finite man, when we might have the strength of the unerring, infinite God.

1 John 5:14-15
And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: and if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

Hebrews 10:35
Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.

Prayer
Prayer is the answer to every problem in life. It puts us in tune with divine wisdom, which knows how to adjust everything perfectly. So often we do not pray in certain situations, because from our standpoint the outlook is hopeless. But nothing is impossible with God. Nothing too entangled that it cannot be remedied. No human relationship is too strained for God to bring about reconciliation and understanding: no habit too deep-rooted that it cannot be overcome. No one is so weak that he cannot be strong: No one is so ill that he cannot be healed. No minded is so dull that it cannot be made brilliant. Whatever we need, if we trust God, He will supply it. If anything is causing worry, and anxiety, let us stop rehearsing the difficulty and trust God for healing, love and power.
